A photo taken on December 2, 2014 shows the bodies of some of the victims of an attack on quarry workers near the town of Mandera, northern Kenya, along the border with Somalia. Somalia’s Shebab rebels on December 2 massacred 36 quarry workers in a fresh attack in northeastern Kenya, with the group vowing to conduct more “uncompromising, relentless and ruthless” operations. A group of around 20 fighters from the Al-Qaeda-affiliated Islamists raided a stone quarry near the town of Mandera in the early hours of December 2. Police and officials said they weeded out non-Muslims and shot them in the head, while some of the victims were also beheaded. AFP PHOTO / STRINGER
