In order to bring a helping hand to those most vulnerable due to the Complex Humanitarian Emergency, which is intensified by the presence of Covid-19, the President (e) of Venezuela and the National Assembly, Juan Guaidó, asked the national Parliament to evaluate the possibility of extending the Heroes of Health program to other sectors.

The request was made during the presentation of the balance of the program that benefits more than 62 thousand doctors, nurses and healthcare workers, who will receive a contribution of 300 dollars in a period of three months, as part of the recognition of the fight they give in the front line of the battle against the coronavirus.

He also indicated that the true appreciation will be when they enjoy a decent salary and the respective benefits of the law.

“I ask Parliament to evaluate feasibility of the extension of the Heroes of Health program to other vulnerable sectors of the country. I thank our doctors and nurses on behalf of Venezuela for the sacrifice, for overcoming the fear of the threats they received (from the regime) not to register”.

He recalled that from the dictatorship they tried by all means to sabotage the execution of the program, and among the actions they undertook was to block the access to the platform through which the payment would be made.

The balance

Within the balance presented, the President in charge said that to date approximately 45 thousand beneficiaries have received payment of the first 100 dollars. He also indicated that the deposit of those that are missing will continue to be done in a gradual manner.

He informed that there are still 7,000 beneficiaries who have registered on the AirTM platform, for which he clarified that the process will not close until all of them are registered.

“More than 70% of the beneficiaries are women, and of that percentage, 48% have no other income, that is, they survive on $4 a month.”

Guaidó took the opportunity to publicly thank the VPN company, TunnelBear, for the support they gave to the Health Heroes with the 10GB of free navigation for one month so that they could register and later use the AirTM platform to receive payment. He announced that the company had extended the free 10GB limit for one more month.

On the other hand, the also President of the NA denounced that the Superintendence of the Institutions of the Banking Sector of Venezuela (Sudeban) has tried to block some bank accounts of the doctors, nurses and health personnel so that it is difficult for them to receive Bolivars when selling the dollars they receive from the Heroes of Health bonus.

Surrender is not an option

In the message of gratitude and recognition that Guaidó gave to the Heroes of Health, he asked them not to give up and to continue to fight against the Covid-19 to save the lives of others. He also made the same request to the Venezuelans.

“He who is tired should step aside. I encourage you not to surrender, to follow the example of Yaracuy or Maracaibo whose inhabitants have taken to the streets to claim their rights because they do not surrender, because they will not get used to it. They (referring to the regime) want us to stay quiet, but they are wrong, they will find us in the streets.”

He said that the dictatorship is “defeated” and that Maduro “only controls the disaster”.

He recalled that the fraud called by the regime for December 6th has been rejected by the democratic forces of the country and by the international community, is not an option either. In this respect, he pointed out that there are no minimum conditions that would make it a competitive election.
