Misterio, belleza y seducción se apoderan de Venecia este Carnaval (fotos)

Luciendo ostentosos trajes de época y elegantes máscaras, durante diez días el misterio, la belleza y la seducción se apoderan de Venecia.





Hay que remontarse hasta las fiestas Bacanales y Saturnales del Imperio Romano para encontrar el origen de esta milenaria fiesta de Venecia. Aunque la primera vez que se usó la palabra carnevale data del año 1094.

Era tradicional en la Venecia medieval que en la primera noche de la cuaresma se realizara un gran baile en el que casi todo estaba permitido. Los nobles, para poder asistir a este evento, utilizaban disfraces y máscaras. De esta forma, podían mezclarse con el pueblo sin peligro de ser reconocidos.

El Carnaval fue prohibido de forma definitiva, en el siglo XX por el gobierno de Mussolini. Hasta que en 1979, y gracias a la iniciativa de algunas asociaciones de vecinos y artesanos venecianos, la tradicional fiesta volvió a celebrarse para llegar a ser lo que hoy en día conocemos.
